4th Grade News and Notes

***** Parents please send your child in a coat with gloves, hats, scarves, etc. for the cold weather. Many students have not had these and we will be playing outside at recess and they need to be prepared.

**** We are still collecting food items for the food drive. If you can help a family in need, we would be grateful.

Social Studies (Mrs. Cecil)
Next week we will be working on map skills review and geographic symbols. This is a review and the students will have an exit slip over this. Don’t forget: Kentucky Scrapbooks are due December 12, 2008. They will not be accepted late!!!!!

Language Arts
We will continue with our novel studies and editing our writing pieces for our portfolio.

Science (Mrs. Ison)
We will have a science test over weather on Monday, Nov. 24. Students were given a study guide earlier this week. When we return from Thanksgiving break we will start our unit on Rocks, Minerals and Soil.

Math (Mr. Calmes)
This week in math we will continue our work with decimals. We will be learning how to write decimals, how to order them from least to greatest and how to use them when counting money. Please remember that on Monday we have the tutoring session for the retake of the math test. Please remember that you need to arrange for your child to be picked up at 4:30.

Important Dates

Tuesday, Nov. 25: Please wear pink and bring in some change to help support breast cancer research.

No School November 26th, 27th, and 28th.
