Meet Ms. Thompson

Hi!  I'm Celia Thompson, the Speech/Language Pathologist at Northside Elementary.   I work with students who have needs in the areas of speech and language in preschool through 5th grade.

As your school's Speech/Language Pathologist, I have a variety of jobs.  I do hearing screenings and make hearing referrals.  I screen students who may have possible speech and language delays (parents are notified before screening).  I administer speech and language tests and make observations in the classroom setting.  I attend conferences and annual reviews.  I develop therapy plans and implement them.  I collaborate with teachers and team teach in the classroom.  I write reports and welcome phone calls from parents at any time.

My husband's name is Jim and together we have two children; a son, Rob, who is an engineer for a firm in Louisville and a daughter, Stefanie, who is a high school chemistry teacher and head swim coach at South Oldham High School.
