September 29, 2008 Dear Friends, Thanks to everyone who came out Thursday night for open house. If you didn’t make it we will go over thing at our parent teacher conference. I have attached a list of times available to come in. We will go over your child’s progress report at that time. If none of these times work please let me know. This week we will continue to work on writing our numbers correctly using shaving cream, paint and water. We will begin a unit on Economics. We will cover terms like wants, needs, scarcity and choices. Everything is a need to a five year old but we will try our best. We are taking a reading test this week for our reading teachers. This is just to get a bench mark on where our students are at the present time. We will take the test everyday except for Friday. If you haven’t had a chance don’t forget to get our classroom a book or two for our basket for Halloween Happening. Our basket is called "Our classroom library". Any donation you can give would be great. They are due by Oct. 10. Our next field trip is Oct. 21 to Boyd’s Orchard in Versailles. The cost is $15 per student. This covers admission, one pumpkin and the gas for the buses. I am sorry it is so high but due to the price of gasoline all of our field trips have gone up. We will bring a sack lunch to eat at the orchard. Adults may ride the bus but you must have completed your background check by this time. Important dates to remember:
Thanks for all the snacks. I am sure we are covered for at least the next 4 weeks. If you have any of the following at home and would like to donate them to our class that would be great. Extra buttons, toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, and a box of band –aids. Have a great week, Tonya Steele |
