What a wonderful group of kids this is! I certainly have enjoyed the first two days of school with them, and I hope they have enjoyed it too.

This week I have supplied snacks for any in the class who did not bring their own. Next week we will start a rotation schedule, so each family only needs to bring snacks about once a month. The calendar for the rotation is on the back of this letter. At this time we have 18 students that will be participating in the snack rotation. If you do not wish to be a part of this, please let me know as soon as possible. I encourage healthy snacks (please limit high-sugar foods), and you only need to send food items. The students are responsible for bringing water if they want it. If you have a question or a conflict with your assigned date, please call me as soon as possible so I can make other arrangements.

Your child will be bringing home a daily folder each night. Please make sure the papers in the "Return" pocket are completed and returned by the next school day. Next week your child will be having homework every evening, but it should not exceed 30 minutes per day. Please refer to the handout you were given for homework policy.

If you have not completed and returned the forms that were sent home yesterday in the large white envelope, please make sure they are all returned by next Monday, Aug. 18.

Please make sure you are checking and signing your child’s planner (assignment book) each night. This is to let me know you are aware of the assignments. Also please check the daily folder for items to read and keep and items to complete and return.

REMEMBER:

Please remember that if you e-mail me during the school day, I may not be able to read my mail until after school hours. If you have an emergency, it would be best to call the school office.
