Birthday Book Club
Northside students
can celebrate their birthday in a special way for years to come. Students may
donate a book to the Northside Elementary School Library. Each month, letters will go home to
students having a birthday during the next month. They will be invited to join the
Birthday Book Club!
Here's
how it works: Purchase a hardback book from any bookstore (or even the
Book Fair) and donate it to the library. Any books on the K-5
reading level are acceptable. Don't worry about
duplicate copies. If it is something your child wants to read, others probably will
also. Books donated should be new and hardback (no paperbacks, please). If
you need a suggestion, visit our Wish
List on Amazon.com. You don't have to purchase your book there, but
that might give you some ideas.
The
book your child donates
will be labeled with the student's name and birthday on a bookplate in the front
of the book. Students will have their picture taken for the Birthday Club bulletin board. They will be the first to
check out the book, if they choose to do so. This is a fun
way to help the Library add new books to the shelves! Please think about joining
the Birthday Book Club!
