Birthplace:  Lexington, Kentucky

Education:   B.A. in Education/Special Education; MSLS from the University of Kentucky.

Experience: I taught moderately and severely mentally/multiply handicapped students for 6 years in Garrard and Jessamine Counties before becoming a librarian in Woodford County.  I  have been at Northside Elementary since it opened in 1992.  This is my 23rd year of teaching.

Hobbies:   I love to read (especially mysteries), work in my flower garden, take photographs, sing, and travel.  I'm a member of the Lexington Singers, a chorus of approximately 150 singers.  Our most recent trip was to Brazil in the summer of 2007, where I got to go hang gliding (see photo below)! The summer of 2003 we spent 10 days in Italy, where we performed  in  Rome, Venice, and Florence. We have also sung at Carnegie Hall in New York (1999); at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris; and in Austria (2000).  My daughter and I went to Egypt over Christmas break (2007), where we rode camels at the Pyramids of Giza.  How awesome is that?
