Transactive Writing

Persuasive writing is one form of transactive writing.
Transactive writing is written from the perspective of an informed writer to a less informed reader.  It is functional writing intended to present information and ideas in order to accomplish any one or more of a variety of realistic purposes.  In persuasive writing, the goal is to convince someone to agree with you.  It attempts to persuade a reader to adopt a certain point of view or to take a particular action by stating facts, giving logical reasons, using examples, and quoting experts.
