Dear Third
Grader,
Welcome to
Third Grade! I’m so glad you are in my class. I anticipate a fun,
exciting, and productive school year for all of us! Third grade is an
important year for you. It is a year of transition from the development of
skills to the development of independence. This will also be your first
year of state testing. We will need to work hard to prepare for all of
this. I have high expectations for you, but these are goals you can reach.
Even though we will be working hard, we will be having fun while we do it.
School starts
on Wednesday, August 11. Remember school begins at 7:40 a.m. and ends at
2:45 p.m. There will be a Meet and Greet Night on August 5th
from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. You and your parents will be able to meet me and
drop off your supplies that night. That way you won’t have so much to
bring on the first day of school.
Attached
to this letter is a supply list of items you will need to start off this
year. You may want to get some extras while they are on sale. I hope you
enjoy the rest of your summer vacation, and I look forward to seeing you
on August 5th.
See You Soon,
Mrs. Praria
